During this difficult period without hockey, Stars and Sticks will still be posting content about the Washington Capitals. Recently, Tom Wilson and his girlfriend adopted a new puppy.

Washington Capitals right wing Tom Wilson and his girlfriend Taylor Pischke rescued an eight-week-old puppy earlier this week.

Halle is a lab mix that the two adopted from the Wolf Trap Animal Rescue and saved her from a dire situation. Tom and Taylor have also fostered puppies in the past and have gotten involved in the Caps partnership with Homeward Trails Rescue Center.

“First family photo. This is Halle. 8 week old black lab mix from @wolftrapanimalrescue. Her favorite things are pine cones and digging holes. #furparents #adoptdontshop,” Pischke wrote as the couple is seen holding their new pet.

More from Capitals News

Wilson posted a picture on his Instagram account which included three photos just moments after the NHL announced it would suspend its regular season due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The first one was a selfie of Wilson and Halle in what appears to be Arlington National Cemetary. The second photo had Halle chewing a stick while the third picture was a family photo with Tom, Taylor and Halle all together.

Wilson wrote, “Tough news around sports the last couple of days. Wishing everyone good health as we figure this out together. And for now… it’s lots of puppy time. Hope to see everyone again as soon as we can.”

Carl Hagelin commented on the photo with a fishing emoji while former Capital Brooks Laich said, “Omg that guy is freaking adorable!!!”.

Even though we didn’t meet Halle, Stars and Sticks can confirm she is indeed a good girl. But I know exactly what Capitals fans would want to see.

They would want nothing more than a puppy playdate with Captain and Scout with Halle included. It is unknown if they have met or not.

Wilson talked about his new friend more in an article by WashingtonCaps.com’s Taryn Bray:

"“We’ve been wanting a dog forever but just have been too busy. But decided it was time to just take the plunge because our schedules are more permitting.”"

More. Capitals season hits a pause button. light

Wilson has 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points so far this season. He’s just one tally away from matching his career-high in goals. One thing’s for sure, even with no hockey on I think Tom Wilson is going to be OK.
