Washington Capitals vs. Bruins: A battle for the third seed
The Washington Capitals have one more Round Robin game.
The Washington Capitals will take on the Boston Bruins today at noon in a battle for the third seed. The winner will get that third seed and face the New York Islanders while the loser will get the fourth seed and go up against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Alex Ovechkin looks to score his first goal of the playoffs. He has two playoff career goals against the Bruins. Ovechkin has scored 26 goals in his last 28 games. He finished the season with 48 tied with Boston’s David Pastrnak.
The Caps are 8-9 all time against the Bruins in the playoffs. Their most recent matchup occurred in the 2012 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals where the Caps upset the defending champs in seven games. The Caps won the series 4-3 thanks to an overtime goal scored by Joel Ward. It was the second Game 7 overtime winning goal in franchise history.
