Another must win game for the Washington Capitals.
The Washington Capitals kept their season alive with a Game 4 win to force a Game 5 and put the New York Islanders chance to close out on hold. A win tonight and things will start to get stressful for Barry Trotz and his Islanders, who entered the week with a commanding 3-0 series lead.
The Caps have a record of 19-22 in Game 5s. Braden Holtby has won seven of his last eight Game 5s and has posted a 10-4 record overall with a 1.86 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage in 14 career Game 5s. Alex Ovechkin has earned 17 points with 10 goals and seven assists in 19 career Game 5s.
Game 4 started off rough with the Caps having to overcome a 2-0 deficit. They got goals from Evgeny Kuznetsov and Ovechkin, with Ovechkin scoring again in the third period to win the game.

“I think we always felt confident in our team, but it’s nice to show that confidence and work to our advantage all the time, said John Carlson.
“Obviously, any comeback is exciting, but I think it’s more the way we played the second and third periods. That’s the key to our ability to come back and win this series. If we play every period like that, it’s going to be really, really hard to beat us. Because we had everyone going, everyone pulling on the same rope, and our job now is to make sure that filters over into our next game,” added Holtby.
Can the Caps get back in the series with a win and put the pressure on the Islanders? Here is how to find out.
