Tom Wilson loves the Washington Capitals new reverse retro jerseys.

We ran a poll when the Washington Capitals released the Reverse Retro jersey. Our readers and followers responded with 73% in favor of the jersey and 27% against it. Those 27 percent may have changed their minds when Tom Wilson posted a sweet photo on social media.

We’ve seen the photos of the players coming down the red tunnel inside the bubble and how cool it looks when they’re rocking the red jerseys. What Wilson did with his comment was post a photoshop of himself in the new Reverse Retro jersey with the eagle emoji as well as a siren with the reverse retro hashtag.

Wilson’s comments on Instagram were full of fire emoji’s and must’ve made the girl Caps fans go crazy. Though the one girl who’s lucky enough to have him, Taylor Pischke, loved it the most by commenting “data my man.”

This is a nice jersey. I like it. Our contributor Ben likes it. For some reason, my mom doesn’t like it but knows I’ll be crazy enough to buy it. I’m a big fan of it because it represents the time when I started watching the Caps when it was their logo.

Some fans will remember the 1998 team. For me, I remember it as a dark time in the franchise before turning to light when the team drafted Alex Ovechkin. This was the jersey, or at least a version of it, when Ovechkin was a rookie and sophomore in the NHL.

What was the jersey Ovechkin wore when he scored “The Goal”? The screaming eagle.

Also big ups to Tom Wilson for his photoshop skills, perhaps giving us a glimpse into the future. Wilson is already gearing up for the season as he recently returned to the ice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex for the team’s optional informal skates. He returned to the D.C. area on November 11.

Wilson joined Nicklas Backstrom, T.J. Oshie, and John Carlson. We also got a glimpse of Ilya Samsonov’s return to the ice after he missed the playoffs due to an ATV injury.

Back to the screaming eagle. Overall, it’s a hit with fans and players alike who were clamoring for this design for a long time. This jersey won’t, unfortunately, be available in time for Black Friday but will hit the shelves on Dec. 1 in time for Christmas. How many of you will buy it in number 43 after seeing that photo?
