Washington Capitals vs. Devils: Date, Time, TV, Streaming, More

The Washington Capitals will take part in a back to back weekend matinee affair for the second weekend in a row. This time, they’ll begin a two game series at the Prudential Center against the New Jersey Devils, a team they beat last Sunday.

This is the first time the Caps have been inside that building since Alex Ovechkin scored his 700th career goal over a year ago. Yesterday the Caps held a practice and Ovechkin wasn’t on the ice, taking a maintenance day. The Caps said he would be a gametime decision. Flash forward to this morning as of this writing.

Peter Laviolette addressed the media and he said Ovechkin will play today. He has 31 goals in his career against the Devils. So far he has six goals this season and sits six goals shy of passing Phil Esposito (717) for the sixth most goals in NHL history.

The Caps have won two of their last three games and their win over the Devils on Sunday snapped their afternoon game woes. The Devils meanwhile are coming off a split against the Buffalo Sabres, winning the most recent game on Thursday 4-3 in overtime.

Which version of the Caps are we going to see today? The one that faltered on Tuesday night or the one that came out strong on Thursday? Here is how to find out.
