The Washington Capitals are back in action at home. Coming off a 6-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres to close out the three game road trip, the Caps have won five in a row and up next on the docket is Barry Trotz and the New York Islanders in a playoff bubble rematch.

Tonight is the third time the Caps will face the Islanders this season with the Caps holding a 2-0-0 record. John Carlson (two goals, two assists) and Justin Schultz (one goal, three assists) each lead the Caps in points against the Islanders this season. Conor Sheary has two goals against the Islanders.

Lars Eller is continuing to recover from a lower body injury. He is still day to day. After missing Thursday’s game due to a family matter, he appeared in Saturday’s game but left during the first period. He had three shifts that night and on the final one he raced back to track down a puck. He started pulling up badly and lifting his right leg.
