Devils vs. Washington Capitals: Let’s do this again
The Washington Capitals are back in action tonight on the second half of a back to back with the New Jersey Devils. The Caps are undefeated against the Devils with a 5-0-0 record and look to continue their momentum against a young Devils team tonight.
Evgeny Kuznetsov has been one of Washington’s hottest players. Kuzy has recorded nine points in his last eight games with three goals and six assists. His two goals last night was the 16th multi goal game of his career.

Since making his NHL debut on March 10, 2014 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Kuznetsov ranks fourth among players with at least 200 games played in assists per 60 minutes of five on five play with 1.57. He trails only Connor McDavid (1.82), Artemi Panarin (1.64) and Mitchell Marner (1.58).
Caps head coach Peter Laviolette talked to the media before the game. He said that Lars Eller will remain out with a lower body injury and that Ilya Samsonov will get the start in goal tonight after Vitek Vanecek was in the crease the night before.
The Caps hold a record of 13-2-1 in the last 16 games, with the second highest point percentage during that span with .844. The Caps enter tonight’s game with a 21-7-4 record for second place in the MassMutual East Division.
