"“Our fans fuel everything our players and teams accomplish, and they have been deeply missed. Our country has been through great stress over the past year, and it has taken a mental toll on all of us, but we know that sports are a great healer. So, we thank Mayor Bowser and her team for approving our vigorous health and safety plan so that some of our passionate Caps and Wizards fans may gather – with the first games being attended by some of our incredible first responders and frontline COVID-19 workers.”"
The press release detailed all the protocols that will be in place including wearing masks at all times (except for eating and drinking), mobile ticketing and food ordering, cashless transactions, seating in pods and more.
Upon entering the arena you will be asked to answer a series of questions to make sure you don’t have a fever or were in close contact with someone with COVID-19.
The Caps will play two more home games without fans. Those contests take place tomorrow night against the Philadelphia Flyers and Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres.
The Caps will host the New York Islanders on April 27 in front of fans for the first time. They’ll then host the Pittsburgh Penguins on April 29 and May 1. They’ll close out their home schedule with three games. First a back to back with the Philadelphia Flyers on May 7 and 8 and May 11 against the Boston Bruins.
We can’t wait to be back at Capital One Arena and we applaud the Mayor’s office and Monumental for finally getting it right. It has been a tough year watching from home but soon enough we’ll be back rocking the red on 7th and F.
