The Washington Capitals take on the New York Rangers in an epic rematch at Madison Square Garden that promises to be a UFC fight at a hockey game. How can you watch this epic blood battle between two teams that have even more disdain for each other after Monday’s game? Well you’re in luck because I’m about to tell you.

The Caps are coming off an impressive and gritty 6-3 win over the Rangers that featured a ton of bad blood. Things are interesting inside the Caps locker room as we speak and nobody will know with all the press conferences on Zoom.

More from Capitals News

Evgeny Kuznetsov and Ilya Samsonov were both late to a team function, they were scratched from the lineup Monday night and will be scratched again tonight. Kuznetsov is on the COVID-19 list and that may not be the only problem.

If that wasn’t bad enough things got worse except on the scoreboard. Alex Ovechkin was inserted into the lineup even though he had a lower body injury and left the game in the first shift making the injury worse. He won’t play tonight.

The Caps got two early goals from Nic Dowd and Conor Sheary. The Rangers got on the board too and it was 2-1 after one. The Rangers scored two goals in the second period to take the lead before Garnet Hathaway tied it.

That wasn’t all that happened as Tom Wilson got into a scrum and got into it with Artemi Panarin. To the dismay of Rangers fans and fans across the NHL, Wilson was only handed a $5,000 fine. Expect a lot of boos for Wilson tonight from the Blueshirts faithful and don’t be surprised if teams target him.

But if they do, the Caps have studs who can step right in and stick up for him. Guys like Hathaway, Brenden Dillon and Zdeno Chara. The Caps added three goals in the third from Daniel Sprong, Nicklas Backstrom and Wilson himself.
