Flyers vs. Washington Capitals: Let’s try this again
The Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers will run it back again tonight after Friday night’s 4-1 game in favor of Philly. The Caps will be looking to bounce back. How will the lineup look like? Will Alex Ovechkin be back? How can you watch? These questions are about to be answered.
Ovechkin was on the ice before morning skate getting some light work in. He will be out tonight per head coach Peter Laviolette but at least he’s showing progress. You can check out a video of Ovechkin from my friend Tarik El-Bashir here.

After Vitek Vanecek got three starts in a row, Craig Anderson will get the start in net tonight. He’s 1-1-0 in three games played with a 2.79 goals against average and a .881 save percentage. It was an optional morning skate after last night’s game so there were no line rushes, sorry guys.
Tonight is the eighth and final time the Caps play the Flyers this season. The Caps are 5-2-0 against Philadelphia this season, dropping their second loss of the season to them last night and their first loss to them since early February in the team’s first meeting.
The Caps are averaging 4.43 goals per game against the Flyers, the highest goals per game rate the team has had against an opponent this season. T.J. Oshie is on a two game goal streak with four goals in his last two games. Daniel Sprong is also on a two game goal streak.
Tonight is the Caps 10th back to back set of the season. The Caps are 13-6-0 in back to back games this season and 7-2 in the second half of back to backs including 3-0-0 when they lose the first game of a set.
